Female food grade models feature gaskets made from a silicon elasomer that is certified for food grade applications. All food grade Safety Bump models are made from an FDA certified composite and elasomers.

Velcro straps tear and wear out against the edges of the ears and, like various other ear locking solutions, are difficult to use with gloved hands.
